CID Restaurants and other Small Businesses Relief Fund
100% of donations to this fund will go directly to small businesses in the CID.
The Chinatown-International District, including Little Saigon, is the heart of the Asian American Pacific Islander community in the Puget Sound Region. Small businesses have suffered significant loss of revenue since the beginning of February, when the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Washington State. Our businesses make up so much of what makes the Chinatown ID a wonderful place – many people have asked how to support these businesses and how we can do more.
The CID Restaurants and other Small Businesses Relief Fund – managed and disbursed by the Seattle’s Chinatown-International District (CIDBIA), Friends of Little Saigon – Seattle, and SCIDpda – will give direct dollars to the small businesses in the CID to help them mitigate the impacts of this pandemic. The fund was seeded by a generous donation from Vulcan Inc. for $100,000. This initial contribution will focus on restaurants in the neighborhood, which have been experiencing business loss since early February. Additional donations raised by this fund will continue to be distributed directly to small businesses in the CID as we continue to learn the impacts of this situation on our neighborhood.
